Its no secret that Im a garbage picker.
No you don't have to worry about me going through your garbage bags, but if I do see something in your pile of trash that I fancy, I wont hesitate to pick it up.
Meet my latest side of the road find.
While driving home from my in-laws a couple of weeks ago, I spotted this beauty on the side of the road in our subdivision. Andrew had just picked up the Timbren van, and we got home at the same time. He hadn't even gotten out of the van yet when I yelled "Hey there is a chair I want right by the park." A few minutes later, it was sitting in our house.
Now its not perfect. Thankfully it wasn't dirty at all, or smelly (eesh), however it did have some rips in it and is missing a back leg. It was to good of a chair to give up, and I knew I could sew the rips, and find a replacement leg at Home Depot. After a bit of sewing, a little bit of fabric glue, and lots of disinfecting (I said it wasn't dirty but that doesn't mean I wasn't going to clean it), it is ready to be used once again.
You can still see the places where I had to sew, but I don't mind. I love the chair. I love the fabric, and the shape. I love that it tells a story. I love that I saved it from going to the dump. And I love that it was free.
